Female Kirk, Spock, And McCoy Return In November ‘Star Trek’ Comics

IDW Publishing has officially unveiled their slate of Star Trek comics for the month of November 2017.

The IDIC (Infinite Diversity in Infinite Combinations) continues in Star Trek: Boldly Go #14 as the crew of the Kelvin Timeline deal with a crisis that could shatter reality. The story of IDIC features Captain Kirk and Spock from six different realities, showing how very different their lives could have ended up under very different circumstances.

IDW Publishing didn’t provide any details for the story of Star Trek: #14, but the cover suggests it will be revisiting the “Parallel Lives” universe of Captain Jane Tiberia Kirk and her crew.

November will also continue the new Star Trek: Discovery comic book tying into the CBS All Access television series. The series is written by veteran Star Trek comic book writer Mike Johnson and Kirsten Beyer, a writer on Star Trek: Discovery who is also charged with coordinating the series with its tie-in materials.

IDW Publishing is still keeping the specific details of the Star Trek: Discovery comic book under wraps. We do know that the series will focus on the Klingons of the new CBS All Access series, revealing secrets of T’Kuvma, his house, and his attempts to unite the Klingons against the Federation.

In the trade paperback collection department, IDW Publishing will be releasing the fourth volume of Star Trek: The New Adventures, written by Mike Johnson with several artists, including Cat Staggs, Tony Shasteen, and Rachel Stott.

The New Adventures focuses on the crew of the Kelvin timeline from the Star Trek reboot movies. This volume takes the crew past the events of Star Trek Into Darkness. The collection includes “The Q Gambit,” a story in which the Kelvin timeline crew encounters the near-omnipotent Star Trek: The Next Generation antagonist Q.
