Leaked Star Wars 8 Images Reveal New Stormtrooper

Star Wars: The Last Jedi is one of the most anticipated new movies of the year, and fans are excited to see what kind of new elements the film will introduce to Star Wars canon. Today we have a look at a new type of Stormtrooper serving in the First Order – one that (like so many elements of the sequel trilogy) mixes the old with the new.

Star Wars News spotted some supposedly leaked promotional images for The Last Jedi, which shows off a First Order Guard sporting some crimson armor or formidable bladed weaponry. The immediate comparison being made is with Emperor Palpatine’s Crimson Guard from Return of The Jedi. These First Order soldiers certainly look like that – just a little more dynamic and active.

These Red Guards of The First Order look like they’re going to be getting their hands (and blades) dirty in The Last Jedi – instead of just standing there, ceremonially. Also included in the gallery is a new design for the standard First Order Stormtroopers, with red helmet and shoulder accents. Star Wars: The Last Jedi is the second film in the new Star Wars sequel trilogy that began with Star Wars: The Force Awakens in 2015. The film will deal with Luke training Rey to become a, and possibly the last, Jedi. Meanwhile, the Resistance, including Poe Dameron and First Order defector Finn, continues to fight against the First Order, led by General Hux, while Supreme Leader Snoke and his Dark Side follower Kylo Ren continue their mysterious plot.
