One of the most anticipated aspects of the new film is the inclusion of everyone’s favorite villain, Darth Vader.
Since the character was killed at the finale of Return of The Jedi, audiences feared they would never see Anakin on screen again. This fear was all-but confirmed when Kylo Ren held his scorched helmet in The Force Awakens.
When Rogue One was announced, it gave many a glimmer of hope that Vader would return.
Rogue One: A Star Wars Story takes place just before the events of the original film, A New Hope. As the Death Star is being built, a group of rebels, lead by Felicity Jones, embark on a mission to steal plans for the weapon of destruction.
We all know Darth Vader is at the helm of the Death Star project, so it made sense for the film to officially include him in the story.
In the new poster, which is very reminiscent of the classic Star Wars posters, Vader can be vaguely seen. In the top right corner, just past Jyn Erso, the famous mask of Vader is fading into the scene.
We don’t yet know how much time Darth Vader will end up getting in the film, but he is obviously a big enough part of the story to be included on the poster.
