The Star Wars Universe expanded with last December’s spinoff prequel anthology Story film detailing a motley crew of Rebels and their attempt to steal the Death Star plans from under the Empire’s nose.

And when Rogue One: A Star Wars Story aired its first trailer, it was loaded with iconic imagery that made indicated fans were in for an epic exploration of moments only glossed over in the credits.
But then they cut most of those scenes out in the final picture, added some gross Darth Vader puns, and had one of the most disjointed plot structures since The Phantom Menace.
Hey, it’s still a good movie! It just has a few flaws.
That’s exactly why it deserves the Honest Trailers treatment and thankfully Screen Junkies just provided.

And though there are a lot of things one can make fun of about this filmโand pretty much any other Star Wars movieโthey kick things off right by making fun of people’s inability to spell “ROGUE” correctly.
Honest Trailers’ best quality is its ability to pick apart the nonsensical moments without taking anything away from one’s enjoyment of the film it skewers. Storytelling is about momentum and creating an inherent logic that works in context of the narrativeโand they playfully tear all of that down with a magnifying glass and a funny trailer voice.
And it also helps when you compare Jyn Erso to Grumpy Cat.
