Director Rian Johnson is set to introduce a lot of new concepts into the sequel to The Force Awakens, while updating some beloved characters and ideas for the new generation of movie goers.

One such concept includes what appears to be a new take on the Emperor’s Royal Guard. Making Star Wars reports they’re going to be referred to as Elite Praetorian Guards, all with slightly different design elements and weapons. Their helmets will look different, but they’ll all have similar breast plates and arm coverings.

Since there aren’t any images of the new characters that have hit the internet yet, Making Star Wars teamed with artist Lumberjack Nick to create a drawing based on their appearance.

Editor-in-Chief Jason Ward says they chose that specific guard to render to show how different hey are from the Royal Guard. The drawing also reveals the characters weapon, which has an energy blade jutting out along the edge.

Star Wars films have no shortage on great designs, but what remains to be seen is how these characters will be utilized on screen. There have been conflicting rumors about the guards mixing it up in action scenes or simply just standing around, much like Palpatine’s own guards.

Hopefully we learn more with another trailer for Star Wars: The Last Jedi, but that seems like wishful thinking. We’ll definitely find out for sure when the next movie premieres in theaters on December 15.
