The wait is almost over, as The Walking Dead is just a little more than a month away. Fans have been clammoring for more details, footage – really anything regarding the second half of the season following that epic midseason finale.
Thankfully, AMC has graced fans with the first official image for the second half of the season. While it doesn’t say much more than we already know, the photo does set up a series of epic events that will unfold over the next eight episode.

This image shows Rick and his crew in the mansion at Hilltop, and they’re laying down the law with Gregory. It’s evident that the current Hilltop leader doesn’t want to go to war with Negan, but Rick & Co. definitely aren’t okay with that.
Michonne, Daryl, Carl, and Tara stand behind Rick as he stares down Gregory. The four are supporting their fearless leader, and it seems as though they will now make up his closest advisors.
The best part of this image however, is Maggie taking charge. The hero is the closest one to Gregory’s desk, and she looks to be taking his role in Hilltop sooner, rather than later.
Against a team like that, Gregory’s ways won’t last much longer. If there’s one thing we learned, it’s that Rick and Maggie are not to be messed with.
