There’s only one episode left until The Walking Dead takes a couple of months off, and it’s unlikely the episode will air without a few shocking moments!

It’s always hard to tell exactly what you can expect, but there is more than enough material to come up with some educated guesses. Not only do the comics provide an interesting perspective on things, but there are plenty of storylines to follow leading up to the episode.

Rick and Aaron are at a zombie lake, Michonne is hunting Negan, Maggie is taking over Hilltop, Spencer is plotting things, Carl is having a dinner party, and Carol is finally coming back!

So many things, and only 90 minutes to cover it. Take a look at five events that could take place in ‘Hearts Still Beating’.

Ezekiel Appears

Ezekiel has been gone for a while, and you have no idea how not cool that is.

When The King made his debut in the second episode of the season, audiences were excited that he would become a mainstay for the series. Unfortunately, he hasn’t been seen since.ย

The promos for the episode have proven Carol and Morgan are back around, but nothing has been seen of Ezekiel.ย

Since their story involves sneaking around behind The King’s back, we’re thinking he will appear.

Eugene Gets Taken

In the comics, Negan discovers Eugene can manufacture bullets. In order to make the most of this revelation, the villain decides to take Eugene back to Sanctuary with him.

Rosita has now forced Eugene to make a bullet for her, so everyone will know that he can do it. When Negan finds out, which he will, he’s not going to let that go to waste.ย

Negan probably won’t hurt the guy, but he will make him work. There may be a grey jumpsuit in it for Eugene, but we doubt he’ll get the Easy Streatment.

Dwight Catches Daryl

Daryl is on his way out of Sanctuary, but there’s no telling who gave him the note and tools. Some believe it’s Sherry, some think it’s Jesus, and there are others who would say that Dwight is behind it.

Either way, Daryl isn’t sticking around. Sanctuary is too crowded of a place for the guy to escape without running into anyone, so look for Dwight to cut in here.

Whether the two fight, or Dwight lets Daryl pass, the hero is going to escape.

Olivia Dies

Olivia, we barely knew you.

The timid character is at the mercy of Negan, and that’s never a good sign. Even if she survived his last trip to ASZ, it’s likely the same won’t be true this time. Since she doesn’t know where Rick is, and she won’t get into bed, Negan doesn’t have much use for Olivia.

The comic version of Olivia lasted much longer, but there isn’t very much character development there – certainly not enough to keep her around.

ย

Spencer Dies

Everyone is waiting for this to happen, and there’s almost no way it won’t. No amount of common sense could dictate that Spencer makes it out alive.

Spencer has made it clear that he hates Rick, and wants to kick him out. When he tries to plot with Negan to turn Rick over, Negan will just cut Spencer down where he stands. Comic fans will get the ‘Guts’ scene they’ve been waiting for.
