When actresses on The Walking Dead get pregnant, the show’s creative team always finds a way to make things work. For Sonequa Martin-Green, that meant a lot of precise placement and heavier costumes. For Alanna Masterson, it was going on a supply run for seven episodes. In the case of Christian Serratos, who plays Rosita, The Walking Dead is going to use a couple of different tactics.

At the end of Season Seven, Rosita was shot and taken to the infirmary, which gave her an excuse to be missing for a number of episodes in Season Eight. Many have been lead to believe that this means the character will be absent for a large chunk of the season, but Serratos recently revealed that fans can expect her sooner, rather than later.

“Well, what I can say is that we still do have the magic of the film industry,” the actress told EW. “I don’t want to give too much away. I mean, some people in the past have come back after like six episodes, but there’s the second unit. I don’t want to say you won’t see her. I don’t want to say you will. I just want to say that where there’s a will there’s a way.”

That “second unit” Serratos mentions is used quite a lot in The Walking Dead. Those are the folks that go back and film extra scenes that take place away from the main action, and can be used in any number of episodes. So, for example, the second team could shoot a scene with Rosita recovering in her room while the rest of the crew is working on the eighth or ninth episode of the season. Instead of using it in that episode though, the clip could be inserted earlier in the season, letting fans check in on Rosita.

Judging by her words, it’s pretty safe to say that you’ll be seeing Rosita at some point in the early episodes of the season. The scene will probably be shorter, but she will definitely be around.

The Walking Dead‘s sibling series Fear the Walking Dead airs Sunday nights at 9 pm ET on AMC. The Walking Dead will return for its eighth season on October 22, 2017.
