The Walking Dead Season 7 has been fairly straightforward in its storytelling. Not many questions have been raised in the form of lingering mysteries. The most popular question mark is regarding Rick’s rise and fight against Negan and the Saviors.

However, one mystery has come from Episode 7×06 (Swear) and does not show any signs of being resolved.
Will we ever see Heath again?
The question is not exactly at the front of everybody’s minds but it is something to think about during the midseason hiatus. While the show has offered no clues other than a card labeled “PPP” to whether or not he is alive, dead, or missing-never-to-be-seen-again, some outside factors help us draw our own conclusions.
First of all, The Walking Dead has seen character disappear in the past. In Season 1, Morales took off from the group’s camp outside of Atlanta. Many fans expected him to pop up somewhere down the line but, over six years later, the family man is still M.I.A. and we’re not expecting to ever see him again.
Heath may very well follow the same fate, though it doesn’t appear to be a choice.
Heath actor Corey Hawkins recently signed on as the front man of Fox’s upcoming 24: Legacy. 24: Legacy, a spinoff of the popular 24 series, is dubbed a mini-series but should it see massive success, you can bet on another season coming later in 2017 or 2018. Given Hawkins’ leading role as ex-Army Ranger Eric Carter, if the show were to continue somewhere down the line, it would spell doom for Heath on the AMC series.
Furthermore, recurring actors on The Walking Dead are often not legally allowed to take recurring roles on other TV shows. The scheduling conflicts presented by a second job are ruled out in the contract when signing on to The Walking Dead.
So, assuming we never see Heath again, it’s safe to say he is dead.
If the character were to survive the bridge on which we last saw him, he would almost certainly set a course to the Alexandria Safe-Zone. Perhaps he went out in search of Tara. Perhaps he got lost along the way. Perhaps a horde of zombies or some band of bad guys we’ll never see caught him enroute. But, if we never see Heath again, bet your bottom dollar he is dead.
Of course, the possibility of Heath returning late in Season 7 or even in Season 8 is not out of the picture. After being absent from the final four episodes of Season 6 and first five episodes of Season 7, he did make a brief return to the show in 7×06. Still, the character has not been developed enough for any of us to truly care whether or not we ever see him again aside from the fact that he’s one of the good guys and we always root for them.
