After a long summer break, and a mid-season premiere dedicated entirely to Nick, Fear The Walking Dead looks to reunite us with the rest of our favorite characters in this week’s episode; Los Muertos.

Heading into this episode, the former crew of the Abigail finds itself split up across Western Mexico. Nick has found himself some new friends in a gated community, Travis and Chris are having a less than pleasant Father & Son road trip, and Strand is leading the other ladies on a journey back to find his precious boat. These characters may all be scattered across the country, but this week will see them all back on the screen for us to enjoy.

In addition to the families we’ve gotten to know over the past couple of years, we’re also going to get a deeper look at a couple of new characters that were introduced to us last week. Luciana and Alajandro seem to be the outright leaders of the compound Nick now calls home, and there’s a great chance this week will dive a little deeper into their lives as well.

So, what exactly will everyone be up to when we rejoin them this week? Let’s look at three things we could possibly see in Sunday’s Los Muertos.

What is Dead May Never Die

In the mid-season finale, we said goodbye to a couple of major characters. Strand shot his beloved partner, Tom, Daniel sent Celia in to die at the hands of her walker-family, and he capped the episode off by setting fire to the entire community, seemingly killing himself. Is there a chance that one of these characters might make a miraculous return this week?

If there’s one thing we’ve learned from series’ like The Walking Dead or Game of Thrones, it’s that a character isn’t truly dead until you see it with your own eyes. By this logic, it totally stands to reason that Daniel of Celia could make a comeback.

Both of their stories dealt heavily with the ideas of loss and grief, and it helped to make their opposing views two of the most intriguing characters in the series. In order to dig a little deeper, it wouldn’t be a surprise if the show-runners decided one, or both, of them needed a little more screen time. The question remains, who should it be?

Uh-Oh-Felia

In recent episodes, Ofelia has finally started to explore some of her inner demons. Talking to her dead mother, exploring her dangerous relationship with Nick, and standing up to her headstrong father all seem to be signs that Ofelia may be starting to crack. Los Muertos could be the episode where the newly parent-less good girl finally breaks.

After losing her mother in Season One, Ofelia took to worrying and caring for her father as a way to pass the time. Every moment seemed to spent finding a way to help him deal with their loss. With Daniel now out of the picture, one’s left to wonder how Ofelia will cope without him. Here’s an idea, she can’t.

A person can only bend so far before they break, and this week should bring us to Ofelia’s ultimate boiling point. Actress Mercedes Mason, who portrays Ofelia, has mentioned before that her character is very much like Carol from The Walking Dead. If it’s Carol from the show, her breaking point will likely see her on a hate-fueled killing spree. If it’s Carol from the comics, however, there’s a great chance Ofelia could be on her way to taking her own life. Either way, there’s a great chance Los Muertos could introduce us to a very different Ofelia than we’re used to.

Secret Secret, Who’s Got a Secret?

Remember those new characters we talked about? They will be returning this week, and new characters always mean one thing; new secrets.

With Luciana and Alejandro now on board as recurring characters, there is a high probability that they are both bringing a ton of baggage into the mix. What kind of past do each of them have that could change things for the other characters? What kind of secrets are they hiding in that compound of theirs? Fans of The Walking Dead know that people in charge of communities never come without skeletons in the closet; or should I say zombie daughters?

Either way, we can expect plenty of twists and turns as Fear The Walking Dead gets back into the swing of things this Sunday night? Will you be watching?

Los Muertos is the ninth episode of the second season of Fear The Walking Dead, and it premieres Sunday, August 28 at 9pm ET.
