The poster sees hunter brothers Dean (Jensen Ackles) and Sam Winchester (Jared Padalecki) about to meet Constantine (Matt Ryan) and Green Arrow (Stephen Amell), who no doubt would probably fight before teaming against a, ahem, supernatural threat too great for any of them to tackle alone.
With all four characters calling the CW home โ Supernatural just entered its 13th season, Arrow is in its 6th, and Constantine will feature in his own CW web series before popping up on episodes of Legends of Tomorrow โ a Supernatural/Arrowverse crossover might not be out of the question. After all, the Winchester boys will be teaming with Scooby-Doo in a half-animated episode later this season, so why not a superhero crossover?
Amell is game: “I’m totally up for it,” the Arrow star said in July, noting it was up to the pair of Supernatural stars. Shortly after, during an appearance on Conan, Ackles and Padalecki commented on the possibility, with Ackles saying, “It would be odd. [It’d be like] ‘Tonight on Law and Order… Arrow.’”
“Stephen’s a big guy, but he’d want some apple boxes and stuff to stand on,” Padalecki joked. “So, you know, it might never happen.”
Amell weighed in on the idea again last month, reiterating he wants it to happen.
“Without breaking the fourth wall with too much gusto, if I could show up on Supernatural as, like, someone pumping gas in their car or something like that, or just someone that they murder, that would be tremendous,” Amell said. “And maybe it’s one of those things where, I know that it doesn’t make sense and I know that its one of those things where it’s not the same universe, but at the same time its TV and its supposed to be fun so maybe, you know, one of these days [Arrow executive producer] Greg Berlanti will be sitting in a room with the head honcho of Supernatural and they’ll just go, ‘Eh, why not?’”
Supernatural airs Thursdays at 8/7c followed by Arrow at 9 on The CW.
