Former 'Charmed' Star Slams CW's Reboot Plans

So the Charmed reboot isn't for everyone. Got it.

On Thursday, The CW officially announced that it had ordered a pilot for a Charmed reboot, finally bringing the long talked-about project to life. While fans seemed to be excited about the news, one of the original show's stars did not take it well at all.

Holly Marie Combs, who starred as Piper in all 180 episodes of Charmed, took to Twitter on Friday morning, calling out The CW for the reboot order.

"Here's the thing," Combs wrote. "Until you ask us to rewrite it like [executive producer] Brad Kern did weekly don't even think about capitalizing on our hard work."

The actress went on to say that Charmed didn't belong to The CW, and it belonged to the people who made it work the first time around. To Combs, that list includes the original writers and crew, the fans, and the four main actresses: Herself, Alyssa Milano, Shannen Doherty, and Rose McGowan.

"Charmed belongs to the four of us," Combs continued, "our vast amount of writers, crews and predominantly the fans. FYI you will not own them by owning a title/stamp. So bye."

Throwing shade doesn't begin to describe this former star's message to the network, and it's clear she's passionate about the project she spent so many years working on. However, in today's TV landscape, you've got to come to grips with the idea that your show will probably get rebooted sooner or later. We're in an age where Will & Grace and Roseanne have already been brought back to life, and shows like Murphy Brown and The Office are working on revivals as well.

For a series like Charmed, it was only a matter of time, and one performer's words aren't enough to change the minds of the powers that be.
