Star Wars Is About to Allow One Jedi to Surpass Anakin & Luke Skywalker

The Chosen One trope is one of the most popular in cinema. Denis Villeneuve is currently tackling it with his Dune movies. While the prophecies that surround Paul Atreides are misleading, it’s hard for even the most skeptical of characters to ignore the signs. All the pressure is getting to Paul, though, forcing him down a dark path. Paul’s heel turn is opening the door for comparisons to another Chosen One, Anakin Skywalker, who wants to be everything the galaxy is telling him he is in Star Wars. But the deck is stacked against him, as evil forces work behind the scenes to corrupt him. The only person who can get through to Anakin is his son, Luke Skywalker.

Both Luke and Anakin get credit for bringing down Emperor Palpatine and his tyrannical regime. While the journey is tough, the raw power of both Force users makes the task slightly less daunting. Of course, Anakin and Luke are two of the most formidable Jedi in history, but their spots near the top of the rankings are in danger because another member of the Order is preparing to complete their training.

Ahsoka Tano Is About to Reach Her Full Potential

Ahsoka Tano

It’s no secret that Ahsoka Tano leaves the Order behind after being framed for a bombing at the Jedi Temple. She doesn’t enjoy the rigid rules and how quickly the Jedi are to judge, so she sets out on her own. Despite doing what’s best for her, leaving Anakin alone during the events ofย Star Wars: Revenge of the Sithย weighs heavily on her. She knew she could’ve made a difference, which is why she’s so ready to take on the man responsible for the death of her master, Darth Vader. In Star Wars Rebels, the two have an epic battle that ends with Ahsoka losing her life. However, the World Between Worlds offers her a second chance at life, one that she doesn’t waste.

After the fall of the Empire, Ahsoka’s sole goal is to find her old friend Ezra Bridger and bring down Grand Admiral Thrawn once and for all. It takes longer than she would like to locate the two, but once she gets her eyes on the prize, she doesn’t let up. Unfortunately, she puts the cart before the horse and nearly dies at the hands of Baylan Skoll. The World Between Worlds steps in once again to save the Force user and presents her with a shocking sight: her master’s spirit. Anakin teaches Ahsoka a valuable lesson about finding the will to live before leaving her to her own devices. However, he’s going to return in the second season of Star Wars: Ahsoka and continue to guide his apprentice.

Ahsoka Is Getting More Shine Than Luke Skywalker

Mark Hamill as Luke Skywalker in The Mandalorian

By passing on everything he knows to Ahsoka, Anakin will enable her to surpass her limits and become every bit the Jedi he was. The next step will be to overtake Luke Skywalker, who, by all accounts, is the peak Force user. He shows up in Star Wars: The Mandalorian and makes quick work of Death Troopers that are giving Din Djarin and Co. fits. Star Wars’ supplementary material, such as comic books and video games, also explores some of Luke’s more impressive feats. However, part of the allure of Luke is that the franchise doesn’t pull back the curtain on his character until Star Wars: The Last Jedi. The majority of his adventures post-Star Wars: Return of the Jedi aren’t being adapted into live-action, where stories have the greatest impact.

Ahsoka’s journey, on the other hand, is getting plenty of shine in her solo series. She’s sure to spend the majority of the Ahsoka Season 2 training not only herself but also her apprentice, Sabine Wren. By the time she’s ready to return to her galaxy, she could be more formidable than both Luke and Anakin. That’s not to say she’ll be better with a lightsaber or be able to push an item using the Force farther, but all her years of experience will allow her to master her abilities and become the ultimate warrior.
