Homelander holds all the cards going into The Boys Season 5. The United States government answers to him and his army of Supes, and it’s not like there’s anyone at Vought that can tell him no. The only hope of getting out of the mess remains with Billy Butcher, who is on the run after revealing his gross mutation and killing Victoria Neuman. Butcher’s big plan is to get Homelander’s son, Ryan, to turn on his dad and unleash his incredible powers. However, that seems like a long shot, as Ryan doesn’t want to associate with Butcher or Homelander at the moment, growing tired of being treated like a weapon instead of a kid.

With The Boys back at square one, Starlight is turning over every stone, including taking a trip to the area surrounding Godolkin University. The former member of The Seven believes that Project Odessa, which turns out to be Marie Moreau, is the key to taking down Vought. But there’s another Supe on campus in Gen V Season 2 that may be every bit as formidable as Marie, and they don’t even think they can make a difference.
The Students at Godolkin University Are Fighting Back in Their Own Way in Gen V Season 2

Homelander’s dangerous rhetoric is pushing the Supes at Godolkin to treat humans like trash during Gen V‘s sophomore outing. Those who work at the college live in fear, constantly watching out from the moment they get off the bus at work. One woman is getting it worse than any of the others, though, as the coffee shop she works at continues to be vandalized with posters that say “Resist,” which is pushing the more deranged Supes to lash out. Emma Mackey catches wind of what’s going on and chases after the speedster who keeps putting up the signs. While she isn’t about to catch them, she knows what to look out for the next time she crosses paths with her target.
A trip to Polarity’s class reveals that Harper is the one causing trouble at the coffee shop. The year before, Harper was nothing but a mean girl who ran in Justine’s clique, but those days are over. Harper is standing up for herself by running around campus, using her unique ability to borrow other Supes’ powers and vandalizing landmarks. She can only hold her new powers for a few moments, but Emma thinks that she’s not using them well enough. The duo travels back to Harper’s room and begins to plan a major attack on the higher-ups at Godolkin. However, they should be aiming higher because Harper could be the key to taking down Homelander.
Homelander’s Worst Enemy Is Himself

Butcher puts all of his eggs into the Ryan basket because the young Supe has all the abilities his father does, which makes him just as dangerous. Well, if Ryan doesn’t have it in him to put dear old dad in his place, Harper could be just what the doctor ordered. Pitting her against Homelander would allow her to hold The Boys villain in place while Butcher and everyone else finish the job. They will only have a small window, but something is better than nothing, especially when the fate of the world is on the line. The only roadblock is going to be getting Harper to believe in herself because, as it stands, she’s not ready for the big time.
Whatever Emma has planned for her new group is sure to instill confidence in the girls. However, messing with Vought usually doesn’t end well, so they’re going to have to be careful when things go off the rails. Bringing in Marie Moreau, who Cipher believes can be even stronger than Homerlander, will probably be the move, especially because she’s working with Starlight. The focus of Gen V Season 2 shifts from exposing the truth about Godolkin University to delivering Harper to the freedom fighters, as she holds the potential to change the game and ensure the planet frees itself from Homelander’s control.
