In addition to its stunning visuals, incredible character development, and twist-infused storytelling, Westworld has also become known for its perfect musical composition. This week’s Season 2 trailer kept up with that tradition.
The new footage, which debuted during the Super Bowl, was set to a piano theme that probably sounded very familiar to hip-hop fans. When you listen a little closer, it’s easy to tell that the piece is a cover of Kanye West’s “Runaway.”

Djawadi has become known as one of the best composers working today, thanks to his legendary work with HBO. Coming in 2018, the composer has written the scores for A Wrinkle in Time and Amazon’s Jack Ryan TV series.
“Runaway” is yet another piano cover added to the Westworld catalog. The first season included unique takes on popular songs like Soundgarden’s “Black Hole Sun” and The Rolling Stones’ “Paint it Black.”
