The entertainment industry is watching, with fingers crossed, as the final negotiations to prevent a writer’s strike are set to take place this week. If the writers can’t reach a deal with the studios, the official strike will begin on May 1.

As it did in 2007, a writers strike could take a massive toll on the entire industry. Writing on all major TV shows would come to a halt, and production would find itself at a standstill.

The audiences of many major series’, including The Walking Dead, are worried that a potential strike could delay the shows from returning on time – if at all.

This strike is no joke, and something to keep an eye on in the coming days and weeks. However, it’s also a relief to know that, even if the strike does take place, some of your favorite shows will be unaffected.

Here is a list of shows, in some stage of production, that could be totally safe from the strike.

Game Of Thrones

With only 13 episodes left in the series, Game of Thrones is wrapping up its historic run on HBO.ย

The seventh season, which consists of just seven episodes, as already wrapped filming in Europe. Right now, the show is in post-production, preparing for the season premiere on July 16.ย

The writing is already completed here,ย and the filming is already finished. With that in mind, there should be no problem for Game of Thrones.

Fear The Walking Dead

While The Walking Dead is just beginning production on season eight, the spin-off series is at the opposite end of the spectrum.ย

Fear The Walking Dead – which has already been renewed for a fourth season in 2018 – is about to complete filming on season three.

By the time the strike goes intoย effect, Fear will be heading into post-production. There’s no reason to worry about the series when it premieres this summer.

Stranger Things

Although Stranger Things won’t air its highly-anticipated second season until Halloween, the series is filming all nine episodes together.ย

Filming is currently underway on episodes 8 & 9, so most of the production is behind the Duffer Brothers and their team.

There’s plenty of special effects work to be done in Stranger Things, so the filming process had to get wrapped early. This effectively saved Eleven and the boys from strike troubles.

ย

Preacher

AMCย has a few shows that can get through the strike un-scathed, and Preacher is definitely one of them.

The comic-based series is currently filming in New Orleans, so there isn’t much writing left to do on the second season.ย

Even if the filming stage overlaps with the strike, the series is past the point of no return. There will be new episodes this summer.
