This year’s Jump Festa was fit to bursting with news surrounding the anime world. My Hero Academia confirmed that it would be returning for one more episode, Jujutsu Kaisen released new footage from its third season, One Piece showed the Straw Hat Pirates in the island of giants known as Elbaph, and Chainsaw Man announced its anime return following the successful Reze Arc film. While some of the heavy hitters were well represented during the annual event, there was another Shonen Jump classic that had some big news for fans, especially for “hitman” enthusiasts.

As a part of Jump Festa, Katekyo Hitman Reborn announced that it was unveiling a twentieth anniversary project to help celebrate the debut of the anime adaptation. To celebrate this big occasion, the original animators for the anime, Studio Artland, created new art of the main characters while also promising some big surprises in 2026. The studio also compiled some of the biggest scenes from the series, helping fans to either be reintroduced to “Reborn” or explore the shonen world for the first time. Throughout next year, the official YouTube channel for Katekyo Hitman Reborn will be releasing short videos for all two hundred and three episodes, every single day. While a new anime series hasn’t been confirmed, anything is possible as the franchise celebrates its big anniversary.
A Hitman Reborn

Most recently, the 20th anniversary website gathered together some of the biggest voice actors from the series to help ring in the celebration. To kick things off, the voice actor who brought Reborn to life, Neeko, shared their thoughts on the anime anniversary: “I’m Neeko, voice of Reborn. Celebrating twenty years since the TV anime began airing! Congratulations! Amano-sensei, thank you for all the love, courage, and hope!! It’s been twenty years since I made my debut as a voice actor in the role of Reborn. I have countless memories of walking with Reborn, and I’ve had so much fun uniting with all the fans as a family, and I’ve been able to travel around wonderful worlds with Reborn! The whole family will celebrate the twentieth anniversary with all our might! Bye bye!”
Joining Neeko in celebrating the milestone, Kokubun Yukari, voice of Sawada Tsunayoshi, also had some thoughts to share, “Back then, we talked about the ten-year bazooka and what we’d be like in ten and twenty years, but it’s been twenty years since the series began airing. I’m amazed. Even now, Reborn feels so close to me because of all the family members who have always loved and supported the series. Thank you so much, from the bottom of my heart. I’ll do my best to celebrate this special twentieth anniversary! Let’s make this series even more exciting together!”
Ironically, should Hitman Reborn return, it could cover material from the manga that never made its way to the screen. The original anime ended in 2010 after over two hundred episodes, while the manga pushed its grand finale in 2012 thanks to creator Akira Amano. We’ll be sure to learn more when the twentieth anniversary celebration goes in full swing in 2026.
