WWE Superstars As DC Characters

The superstars of the WWE and the superheroes often found in the world of comics have immense similarities. They’re larger than life personalities, embodying the best parts of humanity and the worst extremes one can fall to, and stories in the books often parallel the good vs evil dynamic that fans see in the ring week in and week out.

DC specifically has a reputation for creating characters who embody that larger than life mentality, heroes, and villains that are bound to leave an impression no matter what universe or timeline they show up in. There are no bounds to DC characters, and there certainly aren’t many in regards to the superstars of WWE, a roster that consists of demons, underworld caretakers, and people who use the term “thugonomics”.

Since the two have so much in common, it would be easy to see several of the current roster making the jump from TV to the current DC Universe, and we’ve picked out 5 of our top picks who could easily do so. (We already did this for Marvel, too, you should check that out!)

Sasha Banks As Huntress

Helena Bertenilli has two clear goals in mind when she puts on that costume every night. Revenge and superiority. The stakes are much higher of course than the goings on in the WWE ring, but in her own way Sasha Banks can relate.

Banks has been locked in a bitter feud with Charlotte with the Women’s Championship, a title that she feels is rightfully hers. She’s battled through injury after injury to not only be the best at what she does but to also bring the Championship back to its rightful place.

Banks and Huntress are also similar in their offensive styles, where brutality is not avoided but rather embraced. Whether it’s a crossbow bolt to the leg or a painful Banks Statement, both want to leave a lasting impression.

Finn Balor As Etrigan The Demon

Finn Balor and Jason Blood share an unfortunate element in common, but for the most part, the two characters have managed to harness their conditions for the ultimateย good.

Blood’s alter ego is the terrifyingly powerful Etrigan the demon, a presenceย that is constantly vying for control and is at times an ally and at others an enemy. On the flip side of that is Balor, who is tasked with containing his inner demon until absolutely necessary, which is typically against opponents in the ring.

If left unchecked, their power can do immense damage, but both bear the weight of their power effectively.ย Still, their opponents will tell you that they are not to be trifled with. The main difference between the two of course is that Etrigan has no need for facepaint.

Nia Jax As Barda

There are those who focus only on the main goal in front of them, and everything in between is just a means to an end. There are others though who take a moment to enjoy the journey and relish in the battles along the way. That would perfectly describe Barda and Nia Jax.

Both of these powerful women use their size and strength to their advantage, pummeling those whoย foolishly approachย them. Despite their power, both are unexpectedlyย quick, a fact that is apparentย much too late for the person getting run over. They’re also prone to toying wit their opponents, often only losing when their confidence is just a bit too out of control.

You want them on your side, but if they happen to be against you, it’s best2 to avoid them if possible.

Stone Cold Steve Austin As Lobo

Stone Cold Steve Austin is one of the most beloved figures in wrestling history, and most of that is due toย his kick a** and ask questions later attitude. Lobo adheres to the same philosophy, and while his methods aren’t the prettiest or the smoothest, he always gets the job done.

Both figures love the finer things in life, amounting to stogies and beer, and while Lobo hasn’t been spotted in a beer truck, it’s not something that would be too shocking. While Lobo has his chain and decked out motorbike, he typically favors brawling above all else. The same is true for Austin, who has an impressive offensive arsenal at his disposal but will typically go with hard punches and kicks, finishing opponents off with a stunner so he can get back to drinking.

Seriously, if one wasn’t from a different planet, you’d think they were relatives.

Becky Lynch As Wonder Woman

If someone told you that Becky Lynch wasn’t from Scotland, but instead originated from the ancient island of Theymysicar, you might believe them, even if just for a second. That speaks to the warrior spirit inside of the popular WWE superstar, a trait she shares with the awe-inspiringย Amazonian icon Wonder Woman.

Both have are incrediblyย respectedย for not just their skills and power, but for the way they conduct themselves. There is an air of compassion and humility about them that is enchanting, but when the time calls for it, both are unafraid to get involved for the greater good.

There is something inspiring about the way they carry themselves, both inside and outside of the fray, which is a big reason why they are so beloved.
