Five WWE stars we'd like to see as Marvel characters
The superstars of the WWE and the superheroes often found in the world of comics have immense [...]
Dean Ambrose As Logan
There are very few WWE superstars who are the living embodiment of a Marvel character, and it would be hard to find a more synergistic pair than the Lunatic Fringe Dean Ambrose and the best there is at what he does Wolverine.
It's almost uncanny actually. The two outsiders have similar crazy hair, a penchant for diving in head first without a second thought, and a rough brawler style that isn't the prettiest but man is it effective. Aside from popping out three claws on each hand, the two couldn't have more in common, and you could easily see Ambrose smoking a cigar as he waits to dish out all sorts of punishment to some poor sap.
Ambrose might not have claws like Logan, but that's nothing a kendo stick can't fix, and the brawler would make an excellent addition to just about any team you throw him into.
prevnextBecky Lynch As Thor
Becky Lynch has overcome immense odds to get to the top of the women's division, a position she's currently thriving in as Smackdown Live's Women's Champion. The same could be said for Jane Foster, who is fighting for her very life when she isn't saving the Marvel Universe as the mighty Thor.
Lynch has a warrior spirit, one that is able to power through just about any obstacle, and she approaches combat with a gusto that most can't even come close to. Luckily for her opponents, she doesn't have Mjolnir at her beck and call, but as a part of the Marvel Universe, she would have no problems proving herself worthy.
Truthfully, Lynch is basically Thor now, just without the cape and the hammer, but who needs a hammer when you have an exploder suplex in your arsenal. Still, seeing Thor fly around New York with Lynch's fiery red hair would be quite a site.
prevnextRusev As Kraven The Hunter
Every hero needs a villain to square off against, just like a decent babyface needs a quality heel. Kraven the Hunter leans towards the old traditions of the hunt, and in many ways, Rusev is a heel from a bygone era. The two are eerily similar, and could very well be of the same bloodline.
Rusev has built a reputation on being ruthlessly aggressive, with an arsenal of power moves and cutthroat submissions like the accolade, trapping his prey until they either pass out or submit to his authority. Kraven has a similar mystique, and in addition to his physical prowess is always able to assess a situation before he leaps in. Rusev's power and might would be worthy opposition for any superhero, and his strategic mind would allow him to only take on the fights he can win.
A powerful villain is one thing, but one who doesn't mind being patient is an entirely different kind of threat.
prevnextEva Marie As The Black Cat
The Black Cat has bounced from being a villainous thief to a hero for hire to a trusted ally of Spider-Man but even when she's on the heroic side of the tracks, she doesn't lose that edge that has always made her popular. Eva Marie has also shifted from babyface to heel like behavior several times, though it can't be argued how much better she is in a more villainous role.
Both Marie and Black Cat have aspects of their personalities that don't earn them a plethora of allies, but those same traits are also the very things that keep people coming back to them. If Eva Marie were to enter earth 616, she would find a natural fit in the Black Cat.
It would be a more mischevious take on the Black Cat, sure, and she might have even gained a few detractors as she attempted to build her legacy. That negativity notwithstanding, she would still find a way to be the center of attention, and would most likely succeed.
prevnextThe Brian Kendrick As Loki
Just as Ambrose is the walking personification of Logan, so is Brian Kendrick to the mischevious Loki. The thing is, it's not just in the personality or mannerisms department, as even in appearance he is a stone's throw away from holding a scepter and wearing a horned helmet in the ring.
He's deceptive in his move set, waiting for an opponent to leave themselves open for just a moment and then pouncing. He is able to exploit someone's physical weakness as much as their mental ones, and playing games with his opponent is a critical part of his offensive arsenal.
Loki is called the God of Mischief for a reason and thrives on the chaos he can create with but a few simple pushes and prods, and if Kendrick entered the Marvel Universe, it wouldn't take long for him to assimilate to the trickster God's antics at all.
Seriously, someone really needs to get him that helmet for his next title defense. It would sell like crazy.
