That said, there are plenty of things that fans would like to see in 2017, and fans aren’t shy about letting Vince McMahon, Stephanie McMahon, Triple H, and just about anyone willing to listen know waht those are. If the cmpany did announce any of these, it would make a wealth of fans enormousy happy, and would definitley close the year on a high note.
As 2016 comes to a close, here are 5 things that WWE fans would love to get for Christmas this year.
Put The Rocket On Cesaro
The companyย is reminded time and time again on just how over the talented swiss superman is with the crowd every time he enters the ring, and his latest tag team with Sheamus has only made him more popular.
That’s why Vince needs to shove aside all this “brass ring” nonsense and just give him the ball. A Cesaro vs Kevin Owens or Seth Rollins program would be fantasticย from an in-ring perspective, and he has enough mic skills for a great babyface run, skills that would only grow stronger with time.
It’s time to put the rocket on his back and let him go.

A 2-Hour Monday Night RAW
It’s not puzzling by any means why Monday Night RAW is 3 hours long. Money talks, and advertisersย and the network is willing to pay WWE for that third hour, and WWE rarely letsย money walk away (unless it’s WCW, but that’s a post for another day).
While it’s easy to understand, what isn’t understandable is how WWE can keep putting out an inferior product. Part of why Smackdown Live has surpassed (yes, surpassed) Monday Night RAW as a show is that they can focus on the good stuff and leave all the filler to the side since they only have two hours to fill.
While the downside is that not as many superstars get TV time, by the third hour many have already tuned out anyway, so might as well maintain some quality over quantity.

Samoa Joe Debuting On The Royal Rumble
It’s already been rumored that Samoa Joe is heading to the main roster soon, especially since his NXT rivalry with Shinsuke Nakamura seems to be heading towards a conclusion. That said, having him debut at the Royal Rumble would be a fantastic way to introduce him to the main stage.
The crowd went wild when AJ Styles debuted at the last Royal Rumble, and while Joe probably won’t get that kind of reaction, he would undoubtedly get a strong one. He’s done well in NXT, and fans want to see him mix it up with some of the stars on RAW and Smackdown Live sooner than later.
ย
Less Frequent Pay-Per-Views
One of the perks of getting a brand split was more opportunities for talent to shine, and to a degree that has worked out. Stars like Sasha Banks, The Miz, Braun Strowman, Alexa Bliss, and AJ Styles have all had opportunities to get in front of TV screens at a much more frequent pace.
The only fly in that ointment is that the brand rivalry resulted in more pay-per-views, of which there were already 12 core ones, to begin with. Every two weeks there is a brand-exclusive pay-per-view, and it’s resulted in a bit of fatigue. In 2017 these should be scaled back just a bit, just to make each one a touch more meaningful. If it keeps going at this rate, these will start to feel like just extra long episodes of RAW or Smackdown, and no one wants that to happen.

The Return Of CM Punk
Every person has that longshot gift, the one that they suspect no one will actually buy for them but every so often finds themselves surprised that someone actually did. For some it’s that Keurig,ย or that Hot Topic exclusive Olaf POP with the upside down head, or even the loaded Xbox One with Gears of War 4.
For wrestling fans, it’s the return of Mr. pipebomb himself CM Punk. Very few feel it will happen this year, but with Christmas, well, there’s always a chance.
He will most likely have one more big fight in UFC, and depending on his success in that fight, will be looking at a fork in the road in regards to his career in a ring of any kind. The WWE has fractured relationships before, many of them infamous at this point, but more often than not things get worked out if the money is good and the opportunity is there.
There’s a lot to work through between Punk and the company, but if some sort of common ground can be found, Santa just might have the ultimate surprise for WWE fans this year.
