Returning in June from a shoulder injury after almost a year, NXT’s Hideo Itami is looking to be out for several more months now as he suffered a neck injury at an NXT live event this week.

Itami, real name Kenta Kobayashi, is an almost 20-year veteran that conquered the world of independent professional wrestling, competing in Pro Wrestling Noah and Ring of Honor for years and was eventually signed to WWE’s developmental branch back in 2014. His finishing maneuver, the Go To Sleep, was adapted by CM Punk during his reign as world champion, but with Punk’s exodus from the company, the former KENTA has taken it back with full force.
Itami was recently announced to be part of the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic and paired with fellow Japanese star Kota Ibushi, but it’s doubtful he’ll be able to compete under these conditions. You can see how the incident happened below.

WWE has yet to confirm how long he’ll be out, but some reports are indicating several more months.
