The WWE is currently filming the newest episode of Smackdown Live in Glasgow, Scotland this afternoon and spoilers are leaking out across the Internet. At the tapings, WWE officials announced a new match for the upcoming Survivor Series PPV with huge implications for the entire WWE brand.

Kalisto (from Smackdown) will face off against current Cruiserweight Champion "The" Brian Kendrick at Survivor Series. If Kalisto wins, Smackdown Live will become the exclusive home for the cruiserweight division. Currently, the cruiserweight division only appears on Monday Night RAW.

The cruiserweight division has become a controversial discussion since it debut two months ago. The WWE originally put the cruiserweights on Monday Night RAW to help fill out the three hour show. The hope was that RAW could follow up on the successful Cruiserweight Classic tournament, which aired on the WWE Network to critical acclaim and strong ratings. However, the cruiserweight division has struggled to gain a fanbase on RAW, in part due to weak storylines and a focus on uninteresting and "unimportant" tag team matches.

The WWE isn't giving up on the Cruiserweight Division and recently announced they were adding a Cruiserweight exclusive show, 205 Live, on the WWE Network. 205 Live will air immediately after Smackdown Live and will feature Smackdown lead commentator Mauro Ranallo as one of the play by play callers. Since the plan seems to be to use the Smackdown Live set and crowds for 205 Live, it would make sense for the cruiserweights to make the switch to the Smackdown roster.

If the Cruiserweights are heading over to Smackdown, it could hint at the outcome of another Survivor Series match. Last night, Sami Zayn won the right to face current Intercontinental Champion Dolph Ziggler at Smackdown. It's unclear whether Zayn would head to Smackdown if he wins the Intercontinental Championship, or if Monday Night Raw would get the prestigious title. Could the WWE be preparing a title switch to ensure that RAW has enough material to fill their 3 hour timeslot?

Survivor Series airs November 20th on the WWE Network.
