Seth Rollins is unquestionably one of the most talented men in the WWE right now, but despite his immense skill in the ring the superstar has been in a bit of a rut character wise.

In fact, it started right after he came back from his injury, and ever since he’s struggled to find a spot for his character. He went right back to his heelish persona, but he’s not the number one heel on RAW anymore, and the company still hasn’t completely turned him babyface either. He’s feuded with the top names on the card, but it doesn’t really feel like he has a cohesive sense of who his character is supposed to be.

With that in mind, here are 5 ways to return Seth Rollins to prominence.

Figure Out A Gimmick And Stick With It

The biggest source of confusion has been his theme and message. Since coming back he’s had a variety of them, and they don’t really seem to stick.

After he returned to action he ditched the Architect moniker and went with Redesign, Rebuild, Reclaim. Honestly, that had a ton of potential, but only if he had come back as a babyface. With his full on heel run still in effect, no one ever seemed to really get behind the message.

Now he’s Seth “Freakin” Rollins, which just doesn’t fit with the character presented on screen. You’d expect that from a Heath Slater, The Miz, or even early Dolph Ziggler, but not Seth Rollins.

Even today though Michael Cole is still liable to use the Architect, and he could always just return to that original name and roll with it, especially if a SHIELD reunion is in the future. Whatever they choose, it should fit with who is on screen, and when they find that perfect fit just leave it be and don’t change it.

Give Him Back The Curb Stomp

Rollins had one of the best finishing moves on the entire roster in the curb stomp. It was uniquely him, requirementย athleticism and a certain amount of attitude to pull off, both of which Rollins had.

He was later given the Pedigree, which is Triple H’s notable finisher. It made sense at the time since Rollins was essentially his chosen one and protege, but now that he’s calling Triple H out on a regular basis and eyeing a one on one match with him, it seems like the perfect time to reintroduce his original finisher.

A Full Babyface Turn

It has been rumored in the past that a bigger babyface turn for Rollins was coming, but so far there have just been incremental moves in that direction. For him to really catch fire again, the big turn needs to finally happen.

Fans want to cheer for Rollins, but it’s hard to know where he stands. Fans will always cheer the SHIELD or any tease of them getting back together, but the character needs a clear and concise direction. His offense is always electrifying, and his daredevil stunts are what audiences pay to see. Those aspects of his skill set would serve a babyface run well.

Reuniting With The SHIELD

The SHIELD reunion is something the WWE teases every week it feels like nowadays, but putting the band back together could serve Rollins well in more ways than one.

It would create the perfect scenario for Rollins to turn full babyface, supporting his former brothers against the authority and making the switch. Aside from the huge pop it would get, it would also allow Rollins to become involved with the Tag Team side of things, giving him opportunitiesย with Ambrose or Reigns to compete for yet another belt.

Having the team reunite just introduces too many positives to not do it, and it will likely happen sooner than later.

Taking Down Triple H

If Rollins is going to make a full babyface turn, there is one person he has to clear on his way there.

That means it’s time to take down Triple H once and for all, simultaneously putting his heel run and his homage finisher down for the count. There’s already so much history here to build on, and some of that will likely culminate at WrestleMania this year.

While the thought of another Triple H solo match might bore some, it’s a necessary character milestone to get Rollins where he ultimately needs to be.
