Former WWE/ECW/WCW/TNA star Sabu recently spoke with Justin Barrasso of SI.com about his career and more. During the interview, he was asked about inducting The Sheik into the 2007 WWE Hall of Fame Class and if he would ever consider accepting a nomination.

“It’s such a fake Hall of Fame,” said Sabu. “I’d only do it because I need the money. I don’t know if I would motherโ everyone or if I would take it graciously, but I don’t consider it a real Hall of Fame.” He said that it’s not like the Baseball or Football Hall of Fame. He thinks that the WWE Hall of Fame only has stuff from WWE and not other promotions. He added that if you didn’t work for WWE, then you’re not in the Hall of Fame and that it has nothing to do with a wrestlers accomplishment in pro wrestling but rather if WWE owns the wrestler.
While Sabu’s statement may be true, it also seems blatantly obvious to anyone who has been following wrestling for any stretch of time. Has anyone ever confused the integrity of the WWE Hall of Fame’s nominations with that of the Baseball of Football Hall of Fame? And of course the WWE is only going to put in the wrestlers they choose, because it’s their Hall of Fame!
How do you feel about the former ECW star’s comments?
