Book your tickets for Phoenix! Just keep them open ended, because the WWE Elimination Chamber pay-per-view will be returning to Phoenix sometime in 2017. The Talking Stick Resort Arena confirmed on Facebook that the event will take place in 2017 from the arena.

Created by Triple H and introduced by Eric Bischoff at the Survivor Series in November, 2002, The Elimination Chamber features a large chain-linked circular steel structure, which encloses the ring. Inside the chamber are four enclosures outside each ring corner. While similar in appearance to, Hell in a Cell, the Elimination Chamber match is strictly a six participant match wherein two participants begin the match in the ring as the remaining four are held within each inner enclosure and are released into the match at five-minute intervals. The objective is to eliminate each opponent from the match via pinfall or submission. The winner is the last man standing. As in the Hell in a Cell match, disqualifications do not apply.

The Elimination Chamber generally took place annually in February between The Royal Rumble and WrestleMania until 2014. It usually featured a match with world title implications at WrestleMania. The downside was that it often lessened the importance of winning the Rumble, considering someone who lost the Rumble could then win the championship in the Chamber.

It seems like its been ages since the last Chamber match, but the previous event actually took place in 2015 as a Network special and featured two Chamber matches; a tag team Elimination Chamber match and an Intercontinental championship Chamber bout.
