Don't expect to see any 'Steve Rogers for President' signs outside of Joss Whedon's house. The filmmaker just revealed which Avenger he'd like to see become President, and it's definitely not who you would think.

Joss took to Facebook recently for a live video where he talked politics and the presidential election. The outspoken director took time to encourage his fans to vote and register if need be, but he also took time to be his usual quippy self. When he was asked which Avenger he'd like to see become President of the United States, Joss had an answer queued up.

"Which Avengers should be president?" he mused. "I think I'll have to go with Hawkeye."

"He's a man who is grounded. He not only has value, but he has a family - an actual family. He actually interacts with human people in a normal way. He has children he wants to protect. Every other Avenger? Let's face it: They're a little out there. They're a little bit disconnected from the real world."

His answer may come as a surprise to many comic book fans. After all, if any Avenger were to suit up for politics, they'd think it be Captain America. And, as fans know, Joss has a particularly fondness for Tony Stark - but that does not mean the director would vote for the genius billionaire.

"Definitely don't want Tony Stark to be president," Joss said. "He may be the smartest guy there - and although I love Bruce Banner - I'm thinking as we've seen in this election cycle [that] somebody with a really bad temper is maybe not the best choice."

When it comes to politics, it looks like Joss Whedon has some clearcut views. Earlier this week, the director returned to Twitter after a brief hiatus to share a PSA video with his followers. The video, which was made for SaveTheDay.vote, enlists celebrities like Robert Downey Jr. who encourage viewers to vote, vote, and then vote some more.

The video starts out with Robert Downey Jr. standing in front of a white wall and sporting an artsy Iron Man shirt. "On Tuesday, November 8th this country will make one of the most important, the most important, one of the most important decisions in its history," he said.

"You have a chance, you have an obligation to be a part of that decision. You might think it's not important, you might think you're not important, but that's not true, and the only way we can prove that to you is by having lots of famous people, lots, and lots of famous people, just a s***-ton of famous people, repeating how important it is."

Of course, Robert Downey Jr. isn't the only Marvel alum taking a stance on this year's admittedly wild election cycle. Mark Ruffalo has told fans he will appear fully nude in his next film is anyone but Donald Trump is elected president, a pledge which Hilary Clinton herself has commented on recently.

So, which Avenger do you think would be a great POTUS? Share your thoughts in the comments below!
