FBI Hunting For Comic Bandit On A Bank Robbing Spree

The Spider-Man: Homecoming trailer inspired many fans to believe that they would be seeing the wall-crawling web-slinger the way they have always wanted. It also, apparently, inspired others to get out and rob banks.

Donning the mask of Darth Vader and then Black Panther -- a la the scene in the trailer -- a suspect in Colorado has gotten the attention of the FBI in connection with his crimes.

Police believe the suspect to be a white male in his late-20's or early-30's; standing between 5-foot-10 and 6-feet tall. Reports have indicated that the suspect fled both scenes on foot. The same reports indicate that he may have an accomplice in a woman driving a Saturn Vue which has been seen in the same area.

The FBI has dubbed the criminal the "Comic-Con Bandit" in conjunction with the robberies in the Louisville and Littleton(CO), though most assume he has no tie to any Comic-Con.

The Homecoming trailer was of Spider-Man as he foiled an ATM robbery. Adding humor to the scene, the robbers conceal their identities by wearing masks of the Avengers: Captain America, Hulk, Iron Man, and Thor. "Hey, you guys aren't the real Avengers," Spider-Man quips. "I can tell, Hulk gives it away."

Aside from the witty remark, the scene is actually rooted in the comics. In an issue of Ultimate Spider-Man, during Brian Michael Bendis and Mark Bagley's spectacular run, Spider-Man/Peter Parker encountered robbers wearing masks of Captain America, Iron Man, and Batman.

A young Peter Parker/Spider-Man (Tom Holland), who made his sensational debut in Captain America: Civil War, begins to navigate his newfound identity as the web-slinging super hero in Spider-Man: Homecoming. Thrilled by his experience with the Avengers, Peter returns home, where he lives with his Aunt May (Marisa Tomei), under the watchful eye of his new mentor Tony Stark (Robert Downey, Jr.). Peter tries to fall back into his normal daily routine – distracted by thoughts of proving himself to be more than just your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man – but when the Vulture (Michael Keaton) emerges as a new villain, everything that Peter holds most important will be threatened.

The cast features Tom Holland, Michael Keaton, Zendaya, Donald Glover, Jacob Batalon, Laura Harrier, Tony Revolori, Tyne Daly, Bokeem Woodbine, with Marisa Tomei, and Robert Downey Jr.. It also includes Jon Favreau, Martin Starr, Kenneth Choi, Michael Mando, Selenis Leyva, Isabella Amara, Jorge Lendeborg, Jr., JJ Totah, Hannibal Buress, and Jacob Batalon.

The film is being directed by Jon Watts (Cop Car), based on a screenplay by Jonathan Goldstein & John Francis Daley (Vacation reboot) and Jon Watts & Christopher Ford and Chris McKenna & Erik Sommers.

The film is produced by Marvel boss Kevin Feige and former Sony boss Amy Pascal. Louis D'Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Patricia Whitcher, Jeremy Latcham, and Stan Lee are serving as Executive Producers.
