Bethesda is no stranger to seeing success with its games, but even Elder Scrolls Online wasn't expected to do as well as it has. And now that it's reached a magnificent new player count, the publisher is more than ready to celebrate.

The company has announced that it has reached over ten million players taking part in the online adventure, and, adding a victory lap to the occasion, it has announced a number of events and promotions surrounding that audience count.

First up, the game will see a full-on Free Play Week across the board, for PlayStation 4, PC and Mac. It'll run from November 30th through December 6th, and during that time, you'll be able to explore a great number of quests and dungeons within the game. (Sadly, the Morrowind expansion is not included.) Here's the breakdown of what's all included, straight from the publisher:

  • A Massive Open World of Adventure: Access to the full The Elder Scrolls Online base game (not including ESO: Morrowind). Go wherever you want with whoever you want for hundreds of hours in the massive open world.
  • 500 Free Crowns: All new accounts receive 500 Crowns to spend in the Crown Store on unique pets, helpful XP scrolls, potions and more.
  • Progress Retention: Progress made from previous Free Play events are retained for those who choose to return. Any characters created, Crown Packs purchased, or Crown Store items bought, as well as any progress made during Free Play Week, will carry over for those who decide to purchase the full game.

Just a quick note: if you're playing on PlayStation 4, you will need a PlayStation Plus membership to join in.

On top of that, there will also be a special in-game dungeon event taking place all week long, for a chance to win bonus in-game awards, including consumables and collectible prize packs, with pets, mounts and costumes to be earned. All you'll need to do is complete a random dungeon through the Dungeon Finder (on Normal or Veteran difficulty) and you'll earn a Mysterious Reward Box with goodies inside. Free Play Week players can also take part in the fun.

Finally, for those of you looking to pick up the game for cheap, it'll be available for 50 percent off all week long, running from the 30th through the 6th. This includes the PlayStation 4, PC and Mac versions.

Congrats to Bethesda on reaching this great new feat, and we can't wait to see what's next for the game world! Check out the celebration trailer below!
