This Game Boy Color Pikachu Nintendo Switch Melted Our Hearts
We've seen a Super Famicom inspired Nintendo Switch (here). We've seen a custom Metroid Nintendo [...]
Handheld Mode
This alternate shot shows the Nintendo Switch in handheld mode (and this guy's goofy mug). As you can see, the decals won't get in the way of you sliding your Joy-Con in and out of the console, which is good because that seriously never gets old. You can see that each Joy-Con has at the bottom a pixelated little Ash and Pikachu, respectively, each from Pokémon Yellow.
The dock on its own is much more presentable than the standard Nintendo Switch dock that you'll get out of the box. Even if you don't want to spend time decorating your Switch and each Joy-Con, which would take a lot of time, it would be worth it to at least grab a decal for your dock so it'll look great on your shelf. We bet the standard Switch resting in a custom dock would still look great.
The back of the dock is the best part.
prevnextLook at this pissed off Pikachu
Our beloved Redditor majormoron didn't post a picture of the back of his Nintendo Switch dock; we had to find this guy on the official SkinIt product listing. Looks at that freaking adorable Pikachu. Those of you who, like us, spent dozens of hours playing Pokémon Yellow will recognize this scene immediately. It's an intro screen that we've seen hundreds of times, and seeing it on a modern Nintendo console is bittersweet.
If the back of the dock didn't sell you on this decal set, then we think the back of the Switch itself may just tip the scales. We hope you love Pikachu because...
prevnextLook. How. Cute.
It's almost ironic because we know that there had to be countless cuss words and f-bombs that went into the applying of this part of the decal. Look at Pikachu's rosy cheeks and how they're divided by the kickstand. Lining that up perfectly had to be a painstaking process, and if this guy is anything like us, we're sure he messed up once or twice.
This is perfect for handheld mode, because whenever you're sitting on a bus, train, or plane playing your Nintendo Switch, anyone sitting across from you will see this adorable (and enormous) Pikachu face staring back at them.
