A new Pokemon Go glitch has turned Raid Bosses into Schrodinger's Pokemon.

For a few weeks now, we've seen occasional reports of Raid Bosses prematurely fleeing from a capture screen. Raid Bosses aren't supposed to flee after a Raid Battle, at least not until a player has run out of Premier Balls to capture them with. In fact, Pokemon Go's coding supposedly makes it impossible for a Raid Boss to flee.

That's why we were as surprised as anyone to see a new video that shows an Entei fleeing after a Raid, even though the person recording the encounter had five Poke Balls remaining. The video even shows the player's journal noting that Entei had escaped just moments before.

So, is the new video proof that Raid Bosses can suddenly escape from players in the middle of a capture attempt? Well, we're not totally sure. If you take a closer look at the video, you can see that the player earns 10,110 XP after Entei escapes. That's how much XP a player earns for completing a raid and successfully capturing a Raid Boss with a "Nice" throw... which is exactly what the player hit Entei with before it fled.

We can't say for certain whether or not Entei actually escaped, but it's pretty clear that Pokemon Go is giving the player contradictory information. The game showed Entei escaping when it was supposedly impossible, but gave the player XP as if it had captured it.

If you encounter a Raid Boss fleeing prematurely, be sure to check your Pokemon inventory before panicking. This could be a potentially big bug, or it could be a glitch in which the game causes you to freak out for no reason.

Clearly, this is a weird Pokemon Go bug and something that needs to be addressed sooner as opposed to later. We'll provide an update as soon as we get to the bottom of these new glitch reports.
