Few TV movies have garnered the amount of spectacle and buzz as the Sharknado series. And with the newest installment on the horizon, Syfy has unveiled a surprising amount of information about the upcoming Sharknado 5.

The movie has received an extremely relevant title, officially being called Sharknado 5: Global Swarming. Also topical is the film's slogan, with the film promising to "Make America Bait Again" when the film premieres in August. Both the title and slogan are the result of an online campaign launched by Syfy, which allowed Facebook users to suggest ideas for the film's marketing.

This isn't the first time Sharknado has relied on social media - aside from the series' popularity being largely thanks to Twitter. Sharknado 3: Oh Hell No! ended on a cliffhanger with April Wexler (Tara Reid) appearing to be attacked by a shark. The film then turned to its viewers for help, asking fans to vote on whether or not April would survive to see Sharknado 4: The 4th Awakens. (Don't worry, she did live to see another shark-hunting day.)

The official synopsis for Global Swarming is as follows:

"In this latest iteration, the mission gets personal for Fin Shepard (Ian Ziering) and his bionic wife, April (Tara Reid), when their young son gets trapped in a traveling 'nado and transported all over the world. From London to Rio, Tokyo, Rome and Amsterdam, the heroes seek assistance from royals, scholars, Olympians and news talking heads in their epic battle."

With the franchise largely being known for its often ridiculous cameos, Syfy has teased a continuation of that in Global Swarming. The globe-trotting affair will include appearances from Fabio as the Pope, Charo as the Queen of England, and Saturday Night Live alum Chris Kattan as the British Prime Minister. Other new cast members include Clay Aiken, Margaret Cho, Tony Hawk, Bret Michaels, Game of Thrones' Ross Mullan, and Olivia Newton-John. Return cameos will include Gilbert Gottfried and Today anchors Al Roker, Kathie Lee Gifford, and Hoda Kotb.

Sharknado 5: Global Swarming is set to debut on Syfy on August 6th, 2017, and will air in over 100 countries. You can check out the first poster for it below:
