Channing Tatum Wants To Introduce Gambit In A Very Different Way

While Fox hasn't yet officially made an announcement about a Gambit movie, it's been widely reported that Channing Tatum will play Gambit either in an upcoming X-Men movie or a solo movie. Based on what Tatum is telling MTV, it really sounds like Tatum's version of Gambit will be first introduced in a standalone movie.

"We're finding a writer and sort of beating it out," said Tatum. "I don't want to give too much away because we don't know that much right now other than we obviously know who Gambit is. We really do want to try our hardest to give something fresh. We're obviously going to go to the saving the world superhero movies eventually, but maybe not for the first one."

Tatum added, "We kind of want to introduce this character in a very different way. When you try to do something different, you never really know right off the bat what that is. We're feeling our way into it. And really just have got to prove that concept of that person."
