That’s according to director David Ayer. What is it? Well, that’s tougher to say, since he made the announcement via Twitter and it amounted to…

…Cryptic.
There are some pretty solid guesses, of course; we had previously heard that March would see the start of filming, so it’s possible that movie will begin production on March 2.
That’s very probable, actually, as Jared Leto today posted to Instagram that he had arrived in Toronto, where the movie is expected to film.

Of course, some fans are speculating online that there may be a Joker image released tomorrow for the start of production. The argument is twofold: that Margot Robbie and Will Smith are likely still on their press junket for Focus, so it’s unlikely that they’re going to be shooting Suicide Squad just yet, and that Leto provided fans with the image above via Twitter:

Possible too is an official announcement that Rick Flag has been replaced; the character was part of the film’s original mass casting announcement, but since The Dark Knight Rises baddie Tom Hardy pulled out, there has been no consensus as to who will take the role.
None of the other cast members besides Leto are tweeting about being in Toronto yet, so it’s hard to get a gauge for exactly what’s coming. While it seems wildly unlikely they’d have a photo ready to go before production formally started, Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice had a Batman image very early on, and The Joker is unequivocally the most marketable part of Suicide Squad. And while it’s not common for Warner Bros. (or indeed most studios), Disney routinely launches production on their tentpole movies with photos attached to the release, a la Cinderella and The Lone Ranger in recent years.
