Beloved genre actors Patrick Warburton and Michael Dorn will get to return to two of their most iconic roles — sort of — in Ted 2.

The film will see Warburton suit up as The Tick and Dorn don the makeup of Starfleet’s Worf from Star Trek: The Next Generation…but only as cosplayers with “dime store versions” of the costumes, according to Yahoo! TV.
Warburton, reprising the unlikable role of Guy from the first Ted, said that he avoided being too full-on with his impression of his old character — largely because it seemed out of character.
“Guy’s too big of an a–hole to have been a fan of The Tick,” Warburton said. “Tick fans are evolved and intellectual. He just found this costume and put it on. I imagine him saying, ‘Look at me — I’m a bug!’”
Saying that The Tick was the most fun he’d ever had on a project, Warburton added, “It felt better that Guy didn’t know who the Tick was. He and Rick were like, ‘We’re going to go to Comic-Con and f–k with people because we’re jerks.’”
While there are rumors that Amazon is looking to make a new season of The Tick, again starring Warburton, it hasn’t gone into production and Amazon has never commented. Meanwhile, Ted 2 filmmaker Seth MacFarlane gets to direct Warburton and Dorn in their iconic roles, much like he did when Christopher Lloyd guest-starred as a time-traveling Doc Brown in A Million Ways to Die in the West.
