Sherlock: The Abominable Bride Extended Trailer, Premiere & Theatrical Release Dates

An extended trailer and details for the Sherlock Christmas Special, now officially titled Sherlock: The Abominable Bride, have been released.

According to EW, Sherlock: The Abominable Bride will be the first episode of Sherlock to premiere in the United States and the United Kingdom on the same day when it premieres on New Year's Day.

The episode will then make its way to theaters, with an extra 20 minutes supplemental footage, on Jan. 5. and Jan. 6. The episode will screen in 500 theaters across the United States. Tickets will go on sale on Nov. 6 at the Fathom Events website.

Sherlock: The Abominable Bride is a special episode that brings Sherlock Holmes (Benedict Cumberbatch) and Dr. John Watson (Martin Freeman) back to the Victorian London of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's original stories.

Sherlock Series 4 begins filming in April.
