Rogue One: A Star Wars Story Trailer Tease Released

A tease for the new Rogue One: A Star Wars Story trailer, set to debut Thursday during NBC's extensive coverage of the Summer Olympics, was released online by the official Star Wars account today. The fifteen second video features just ten seconds of actual footage.

After watching the new U-Wing take off, as revealed last week, the tease flashes quickly on each of the main characters in the Rebel Alliance group. Jyn Erso (Felicity Jones), Baze Malbus (Wen Jiang), K-2SO (Alan Tudyk), Cassian Andor (Diego Luna), and Chirrut Imwe (Donnie Yen) each get a spotlight shot, before ending on the same "run on the beach towards the AT-ACTs" scene that appeared in the first full trailer. Whether that means the new trailer will focus on those characters, or if we'll see equal time for them and the other unpictured principals remains to be seen.

At Star Wars Celebration Europe, a featurette that took fans behind-the-scenes was released, but the 90-second teaser shown to fans in attendance was not released to the public. Darth Vader appeared in the closing moments of that footage, making fans hopeful for a glimpse of the Dark Lord of the Sith in this week's second full trailer.
