My Hero Academia Reveals Artwork For New Season 2 Characters

After debuting to critical praise, My Hero Academia will return this year with a brand-new season. The shonen series made waves thanks to its colorful cast and animated storylines last year, and 2017 is set to bring the series to new heights. To celebrate the success of My Hero Academia, Shonen Jump is taking the time to give fans a sneak peek at its upcoming season. And, to the delight of fans, the magazine's preview gives them a look at the season's new characters.

The slate of characters will be part of the show's Class 1-B. The students are comrades to main characters like Izuku and Katsuki who are in Class 1-A. In the anime, these explosive characters will be voiced by relative newbies like Saki Ogasawara, Azu Sakura, and Kouju Okino. The three will play Itsuka Kendou, Mei Hatsume, and Tetsutetsu Tetsutetsu.

If you are not familiar with these characters, then you should know they derive from the manga. Itsuka is the Class President of 1-B and is a spirited girl with no filter. Called Battle Fist, the girl has the quirk of making her fists massive and using them to pummel her opponents. As for Tetsutetsu Tetsutetsu, the boy is hot-headed to say at the least and shows off his sharp quirk by turning his teeth and hair into deadly steel. Mei Hatsume also bears her own powerful quirk as the tomboyish girl has the 'zoom' gift which allows her to see up to 5 km away.

If you are not familiar with My Hero Academia, then you should know the series kicked off in 2014 when Weekly Shonen Jump published Kōhei Horikoshi's manga. The series was then adapted into an anime in April 2016 and quickly gained popularity.

The show follows a middle school student named Izuku Midoriya. The boy is a regular teenager who was born in an alternate universe where everyone is born with superpowers. That is, except for him. Izuku dreams of still becoming a famous and beloved superhero, but he finds himself mocked for the optimistic goal.

However, his classmates are soon put in their place with Izuku does something truly heroic; The boy saves a fellow classmate of his from a villain when no one else would, and the world's greatest superhero, All Might, decides to gift the boy with a power. The gift, which is known as One For All, allows Izuku to channel great physical strength - and it finally allows him to enter the training academy U.A. High School.
