IMAX Reveals Marvel's Inhumans Premiere Date

After yesterday's casting announcement and character breakdown, ABC and Marvel's The Inhumans was finally given a solid premiere date. The characters will indeed first be heading to IMAX screens before hitting television screens on ABC.

Following up the cast news confirming the makeup of the Inhuman Royal Family, IMAX tweeted when they will hit the big screens across the country: September 1.

It was previously revealed the first two episodes would hit sometime around Labor Day, September 4, but IMAX's announcement puts a firm release date on the show's premiere.

The eight-episode series will then air on ABC as a part of their fall slate of premieres, but they've yet to announce their locked-down schedule or lineup.

The series includes Anson Mount as the Inhuman King Black Bolt, Iwan Rheon as his scheming brother Maximus, Serinda Swan as Queen Medusa, and Ken Leong as Karnak, among the other cast members announced yesterday.

The series will come in the wake of an "Inhuman awakening" on the Agents of SHIELD series, where portions of terrigen crystals were distributed across the world, activating ordinary civilians with Inhuman genes as superpowers individuals.

It's not yet clear how directly Inhumans will tie into Agents of SHIELD, but with Marvel's TV and film properties existing in the same universe, we'd expect to see references to major events at the very least.

The first two episodes of Marvel's Inhumans premieres in IMAX theaters on September 1, and will then begin airing at it's regular time on ABC later in the fall.
