This season of Arrow has been filled with plenty of twists and shockers, but tonight's episode may have ushered in the show's biggest change yet. Oliver stunned Team Arrow by announcing that he didn't want to be Green Arrow anymore and that he was shutting down his entire crusade to protect Star City.

Oliver announced his plans to the team after a length torture session at the hands of Adrian Chase, who was secretly stalking Oliver all season as the deadly Prometheus. Although Prometheus had plagued Oliver by framing Green Arrow for the murder of a police officer and then forcing Oliver to denounce Green Arrow to keep hold of his position at mayor, it was Chase's actions tonight that finally broke Oliver, perhaps for good.

Throughout the episode, Chase told Oliver to "confess" a secret that no one else knew, something that he hadn't told even his closest friends. Oliver claimed he didn't know what Chase was talking about until Chase "murdered" Oliver's ex-ally Artemis. Oliver vowed to kill Chase, which seemed only to encourage Chase. Chase told Oliver that his crusade was based on a lie - that he killed in his father's name, and then later killed to protect his friends, but it was all because of something else, something much more darker.

Breaking down, Oliver finally gave Chase his confession: he killed people not out of obligation, self-defense, or in the name of justice, but because he likes killing people. That's right, Oliver's three figure body count was all the work not of a misguided vigilante, but of a twisted sociopath serial murderer all along!

With Oliver's secret finally out in the open, Chase happily let Oliver go, but not before burning the Bratva tattoo off of Oliver's chest as a reminder. Oliver stumbled back to the Arrow Cave (probably in shock, third degree burns hurt!) and made his declaration that he was disbanding Team Arrow for good.

It's pretty clear that the rest of the season will involve Oliver either finding a reason to put on the hood and quiver once again or going through some serious counseling to address his serial killer tendencies. His friends might also be a little distressed to find out that Oliver's been shooting arrows into Star City's criminal population because he enjoys it and not because of some more noble crusade.

So what do you think, Arrow fans? Is Oliver really shutting down Team Arrow for good? Will Diggle, Felicity, Curtis, and Dinah find out their leader secretly enjoys killing people? Or is this all just part of Prometheus's sick plan to break Oliver for good?
