After just three weeks, Logan became the highest-grossing film in Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine movie trilogy. Logan also briefly had the largest opening weekend box office total of 2017 and was the highest-grossing movie of 2017. Beauty and the Beast greatly surpassed both of Logan‘s markers over this past weekend.

Compared with other comic book movies, Logan is one of about 30 that have crossed $200 million domestically. Its current $201 million total puts it just ahead of Superman Returns ($200 million) and just below The Amazing Spider-Man 2 ($203 million), though Logan still has time left in its theatrical run to climb higher.

Logan also had the widest opening of any R-rated movie ever. It was the fourth-highest grossing R-rated opening weekend ever, just above The Hangover Part II and just below American Sniper, and is currently the 14th-highest grossing R-rated movie ever, above 22 Jump Street and below Terminator 2: Judgment Day.

Filmed with a budget of $97 million, Logan has garnered near universe critical praise. ComicBook.com’s Brandon Davis called Logan the perfect finale.”The film currently has an 88.24 ComicBook Composite score, the second-highest ComicBook Composite score of any comic book movie, and a 4.66 out of 5 user rating, making it the top rated of all comic book movies among ComicBook.com readers.
