There are a lot of great conferences that will happening during the days leading up to the Electronic Entertainment Expo, including showcases from Microsoft, Nintendo, Sony and Ubisoft. But all eyes are also on Bethesda, who will once again host a press conference on Sunday night prior to the show. The thing is, though, it’ll be late.

The publisher confirmed that the start time for the event is at 6:30 PM PDT, as that’s when the doors will open for its Bethesdaland showcase. However, when it comes to the actual press conference, that won’t actually be starting until 9 PM PDT – two and a half hours later. More than likely, the company will allow attendees to come in, grab some food and enjoy the atmosphere of Bethesdaland before the showcase takes place. (Usually, it’s the other way around, with the press conference first and the festivities later. That’s how it was last year.)
As for what Bethesda will be showing during its press conference, that’s up in the air. The company already released its sci-fi shooter Prey; and we’ve already got a few details about what to expect from next month’s expansion for The Elder Scrolls Online, the long-awaited Morrowind. Rumors are circling regarding a number of franchises, including a potential follow-up to the best-selling Skyrim; a new Wolfenstein game to keep the masses happy; a potential console announcement for its multiplayer shooter Quake Champions; a sequel to its survival horror game The Evil Within; or maybe even a return of the Fallout: New Vegas franchise. It’s literally anyone’s guess at this point.
Whatever the case, we’ll cover the press conference for you as it takes place, so if you want to see what Bethesda is up to, feel free to stay up late with us. The conference should be available for streaming online somewhere, perhaps on Bethesda’s official Twitch channel. We’ll let you know as official details become available.
In the meantime, hey, we wouldn’t turn down a new Wolfenstein game in the least. I mean, The New Order and The Old Blood were simply fantastic, and a third chapter would definitely hit the spot.
