In the latest Transformers film, connections begin to surface between the robots and the Knights of Legend, which makes the story richer, or more needlessly complicated, depending on how you view it. Not wanting to be left out of knighthood, Mark Wahlberg revealed in a recent interview that he thinks he’s deserving of being knighted, as you can see in the video above.

When discussing the incorporation of knights into the franchise, Wahlberg explained, “Hopefully that helps me get knighted. I’ve been asking Sir Anthony Hopkins to help me out.”
He adds, “I think it would be nice to be ‘Sir Mark Wahlberg.’ Could you see me pull that off?”
Hopkins himself was knighted in 1993 by Queen Elizabeth II for his services in the arts, so Wahlberg might have to churn out a few more Transformers films before he’s reached the same level of acclaim.

Were Wahlberg to be knighted, he’d join the ranks of other actors Sir Ian Holm, Sir Christopher Lee, and Sir Ian McKellen, to name a few.
Interestingly, even if Wahlberg was knighted, he couldn’t technically adopt the “sir” in front of his name, as he isn’t British. Bill Gates, for example, has been knighted and can add KBE (Knight of the British Empire) after his name, but can’t refer to himself as “Sir Bill Gates.”
