As if Gotham wasn’t already going to be dangerous in Season 4, it sounds like Jerome could be on his way back.

The last time viewers saw Jerome he was hauled away to Arkham after terrorizing Bruce Wayne at the carnival. According to Gotham executive producer John Stephens, he likely isn’t going to stay there for very long.

While speaking with Cinemablend, Stephens noted that Jerome would probably make it out of Arkham at some point this year.

“What I will say about Jerome is that Jerome is in Arkham right now, and when you think about Arkham’s record of keeping people locked up, we will probably see him again before the end of the year.”

So, more likely than not, that statement means Jerome will become a player in the game of Gotham once again. His potential return this season is one of many villainous arcs fans can prepare themselves for, joining the ranks of Scarecrow and Solomon Grundy.

Gotham is returning to FOX this fall, but it’s moving to Thursday nights at 8 p.m. The new season premieres on September 28.
