The next chapter in the Star Wars saga, Star Wars: The Last Jedi, is set to hit screens later this year. And according to ComicBook.com’s Brandon Davis, who attended LucasFilm’s D23 Expo panel, the film just might involve a face-off between two of The Force Awakens‘ most noteworthy characters.

During today’s panel, John Boyega mentioned that his character, Finn, will “have a fight with a formidable opponent” in the upcoming film. This would create a galaxy’s worth of options, if it wasn’t for the look Boyega gave to Gwendoline Christie, who plays the First Order’s lead stormtrooper Captain Phasma.

This has led many to believe that Finn and Phasma will finally go head-to-head in some fashion in The Last Jedi. While the pair certainly have a unique dynamic, they didn’t actually battle in 2015’s The Force Awakens, making this kind of set up long overdue.

Fans will just have to see exactly how and why Finn and Captain Phasma duke it out when Star Wars: The Last Jedi hits theaters December 15.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi is the second film in the new Star Wars sequel trilogy that began with Star Wars: The Force Awakens in 2015. The film will deal with Luke training Rey to become a, and possibly the last, Jedi. Meanwhile, the Resistance, including Poe Dameron and First Order defector Finn, continues to fight against the First Order, led by General Hux, while Supreme Leader Snoke and his Dark Side follower Kylo Ren continue their mysterious plot.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi is written and directed by Rian Johnson and stars Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Adam Driver, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong’o, Domhnall Gleeson, Anthony Daniels, Gwendoline Christie, Andy Serkis, Benicio Del Toro, Laura Dern, and Kelly Marie Tran.
