Joe Morton Says Cyborg Solo Film Is Still Set For 2020

The father of Cyborg himself says not to worry too much about the status of the solo film.

While a Cyborg solo film was among some of the first projects announced in the DC Extended Universe’s slate, very few updates on the film have been provided in the years since. But according to Joe Morton, who portrays the character’s father Silas Stone, the film could easily make its initial release date in 2020.

Morton recently spoke to ComicBookMovie about the project, which would see him reprise his role from Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, as well as November’s Justice League. According to the actor, fans should continue to hold out hope for Cyborg hitting theaters in 2020, despite the film being missing from Warner Bros.’ San Diego Comic-Con presentation.

“As far as I know it is still happening,” Morton revealed. “I believe, although I’m not entirely sure, that it should start sometime around 2020. That seems to be a wonderful metaphoric year for these Cyborgs.”

Morton also hinted at the potential for his expanded role in the DCEU once the Cyborg movie enters production.

“It was set up as a three-picture deal. The first being Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice, the second one being Justice League and the third one being the Cyborg film,” Morton said. “So that’s how it’s been set up, but it’s all contingent on how these movies do. And so far, Wonder Woman did really well, and we’re hoping that Justice League does equally as well.”

Justice League currently holds a 4.19 out of 5 on ComicBook.com’s anticipation rankings.
