The ghouls are taking over the streets of the real world soon as the live-action adaptation of Tokyo Ghoul will be here in July. In preparation for the supernatural movie there is a new trailer that shows off fan's favorite ghouls in real life.

Fans of Tokyo Ghoul were excited about the film as it has been a couple of years since any anime content has been released. The film has an impressive staff behind it, and will be directed by Kentaro Hagiwara with costume and mask design by Masanori Morikawa. With all of the controversy surrounding the random retirement of on of the lead roles, the staff assured fans by stating, "We want to convey the ghoul and human drama and strong themes of the original work through the film. Those feelings will never change."

Tokyo Ghoul was first released in 2011 in Shueisha's Weekly Young Jump, it was then and to this day is serialized as Ghoul:re. The anime and manga have achieved international success, and is set to replace One Piece in Adult Swim's Toonami anime block.

If you are unfamiliar with Tokyo Ghoul, Viz Media describes the story below:

"Ghouls live among us, the same as normal people in every way - except their craving for human flesh. Shy Ken Kaneki is thrilled to go on a date with the beautiful Rize. But it turns out that she's only interested in his body - eating it, that is. When a morally questionable rescue transforms him into the first half-human half-Ghoul hybrid, Ken is drawn into the dark and violent world of Ghouls, which exists alongside our own."

The series debuted in September 2011 thanks to mangaka Sui Ishida. Weekly Young Jumpfirst published the manga before it was adapted into an anime series by Pierrot. The anime premiered in July 2014 before a second season ran in January 2015. A third season has yet to be announced by any party.

The live-action Tokyo Ghoul film is set to release in Japan in June 2017, no international release date is set as of now.
