When it comes to Dragon Ball, there are some characters the series can’t live without. Goku and Vegeta rank as two of the franchise’s biggest characters, but there are other fighters who have the support of fans. Krillin is just one of those fan-favorite heroes, and there is a lot more to the bald warrior than you may realize.
Krillin made his debut decades ago in Akira Toriyama’s Dragon Ball manga, and he has continued to appear regularly throughout the franchise. The boy was originally introduced as a rival to Goku, but the pair eventually became friends as they trained under Master Roshi.

Krillin Is Bald On Purpose
If you thought Goku’s best friend was bald for genetic reasons, then you better think again. Dragon Ball most often sees Krillin clean shaven, but the fighter can grow luscious locks. Fans have seen Krillin with hair during the Majin Buu saga as well as in Dragon Ball GT and Dragon Ball Super.
However, when it comes fighting, Krillin finds that being bald gives him an advantage. The Z-fighter goes bald because he thinks it makes him more powerful. Krillin told Goku long ago that “all who aspire to master the martial arts shave their heads in order to unfetter their ki.” So, with that in mind, it’s no surprise Krillin is as strong as he is.

Krillinโs Forehead Dots Are Burns
There are plenty of distinct features about Krillin. The character is bald, his outfit is bright orange, and the poor guy even lacks a nose. However, Krillin’s most defining feature comes from the six dots on his forehead. And, no – they are not pimples.
According to Krillin, the dots on his head are from incense burns. The boy received the marks from monks who often perform such rituals in the East. No reason is ever given for the burns, but it is assumed Krillin got the six scars to show his commitment to martial arts.

Krillin Has A Unique Way Of Breathing
Dragon Ball fans know that Krillin has no nose. After all, the poor guy can not go long before someone points out the odd fact. Krillin was ribbed for his idiosyncrasy as a child thanks to Goku’s good-natured fun, so the creator of Dragon Ball chose to at least give Krillin a one-up.
In the past, Akira Toriyama has been asked about Krillin and how he breathes with out a nose. The creator said the fighter had a physical anomaly that “allows him to breathe through his skin.” So, who are fans to push back against the creator’s statement?

Krillin Is The Sean Bean OF DB
When it comes to western media, no actor seems to die more than Sean Bean. The actor has perished in all sorts of way in the movies, but Krillin could give the star a run for his money with how often he has died. The Z-fighter may be a main character, but Akira Toriyama has had no problems offing Krillin over the years.
Way back when, Krillin died for the first time in Dragon Ball during an off-camera moment. Goku stumbled upon his friend’s body after King Piccolo’s son snapped the boy’s neck. Sadly, the death was the first of many as Krillin died under Freeza before being eaten by Super Buu and maimed by his brother-in-law Android 17.

Krillin Is The Strongest Human Alive
There might be a lot of things going against Krillin, but the ever-popular character definitely has power on his side. Dragon Ball features a slew of very powerful characters, but Krillin can call himself the strongest human alive without lying. So, take that Mr. Satan!
Krillin’s power may not be on par with Goku or any Saiyan, but his strength is nothing to sneeze at. Akira Toriyama has admitted Krillin is “the strongest among the Earthlings” despite ending up in a bad way during battles. Over the years, the fighter has faced off against Freeza’s comrades and fought one-on-one with Kid Buu. Even if Krillin does take a beating, he knows how to take it well.
