When it comes to the Dragon Ball universe there seems to be a number of differences when comparing the anime and the manga, with one of those differences being back in the Freeza arc. Even now, fans are seeing major differences in the anime and the manga for Dragon Ball Super. For example, both Goku and Vegeta could swap between Super Saiyan God and Super Saiyan Blue instantly in the battle against Zamasu and Goku Black in the manga. However, in the anime things are quite different, with only Goku so far being able to do this and the first time fans got to see it was during the Tournament of Power.

However, this difference is way back to the time our Z-Fighters were on Namek, with Goku only just transforming into a Super Saiyan for the first time. In the final battle against Freeza, Goku transforms into a Super Saiyan and dominates the battle after watching his best friend Krillin be killed, as the Spirit Bomb failed to kill Freeza. However, Goku being the kind-hearted person he is, gives Freeza some of his Ki after Freeza was cut up by his own attack, so that Freeza could have another chance at life.

Goku has given many villains another chance at life, however, this time Freeza fought back and used that minimal power to attack Goku. The difference between the anime and the manga here is that in the manga, Goku looked rather disappointed that Freeza wasted his chance at life. Meanwhile, in the anime Goku looked quite angry instead. These might only be small differences however, they are still different, which makes watching the anime and reading the manga completely different experiences.
