Over on the company’s online store, fans can now pre-order a snuggly teddy bear inspired by Ciel. The plushy’s looks come straight from the new movie Black Butler: Book of the Atlantic. The film, which was released by in January, was met with favorable reviews as it revisited the dark adventures of Sebastian and Ciel on a spooky cruise ship.
These collectible bears will receive limited production and are made by a German company known as Steiff. The toy brand is renowned for its quality bears, and they have previously made anime-centric dolls of Duralumin from Yotsuba&!.
If you are wanting to get one of these bears, then you better be prepared to fork over some serious cash. The Ciel toy sells for about $400 after shipping and taxes. The item is slated to ship out in mid-October, but you better order one soon if you’re wanting one; Pre-orders for the bear will end when the company’s limited quantities have been reached.

The story follows Ciel and Sebastian as they’re tasked with boarding a cruise ship called Campania to discover its occult secrets. If you are not familiar with Black Butler, then you should know the popular series ws created back in September 2006 by Toboso. The manga was then adapted into an anime in 2008 and has continued to produce spin-out series over the year. The last Black Butler project debuted in 2014 when a two-part OVA hit Japanese theaters.
As for its story, Black Butler is set in Victorian London and focuses on a young boy named Ciel Phantomhive. When the heir turns ten, his parents are brutally murdered and he is kidnapped by a cult. Desperate to live, Ciel escapes the brutes and returns home with a mysterious man named Sebastian at his side. The strange butler turns out to be a demon who Ciel made a contract with during his captivity. In return for Ciel’s soul, Sebastian has sworn to help the boy get revenge against those who destroyed his life, and Ciel learns more about his parents’ murder as he solves crimes around London.
