Over in Japan, there is a strong connection between the world of anime and pop-up fan cafes. With so many series to choose from, franchises like Animate Cafe can have a hard time choosing which anime to honor, but Black Butler was a must-have for 2017. If you are going to be in Tokyo, then you will be able to test out these Black Butler locales starting February 1st. Fans will be able to visit the cafes on a first-come, first-serve basis where they’ll be able to sample cakes, teas, and entrees.

So far, a slew of delicious dishes have been announced which also tie into Black Butler. For instance, the Undertake Black Burger will be sold, and it looks appropriately gothic given Sebastian’s tastes. The entree comes with a black-bun bacon cheeseburger, potato wedges, and sweet wafer. Another themed dish inspired by Grell and Ronald will also be available and satisfy any craving from curry lovers.

For those of you craving some sweets, the Black Butler cafes will have you covered. In a nod to Ciel Phantomhive, the locations will be serving up gateau chocolate cake that comes complete with tea-flavored ice cream. Another dish known as the Double Charles’ Elegant Tea Party plate will also be available; The sweet sampler will include a mini scone, white roll cake, chocolate sauce, and more. And, of course, there will be an impressive sundae to try out for fans looking to get a brain freeze. Elizabeth’s Sugary Time Parfait will mix berries, cream, ice cream, pie crust, and a variety of sweet syrups in one very colorful sundae.

If these treats have you curious, then you can check out photos of them all in the following slides!

If you are not familiar with Black Butler, then you should know the popular series ws created back in September 2006 by Toboso. The manga was then adapted into an anime in 2008 and has continued to produce spin-out series over the year. The last Black Butler project debuted in 2014 when a two-part OVA hit Japanese theaters. Most recently, Black Butler made a return to mainstream entertainment thanks to Black Butler: Book of the Atlantic. The movie saw Ciel and Sebastian reunite and go on another harrowing journey as they boarded a luxury cruise liner filled with occult mysteries. Oh, and zombies too – you can’t forget those undead pests.

Black Butler: Book of the Atlantic is set to debut on January 21, 2017.
